Teachers use a number of assessment techniques to triangulate data to determine the progress of each child. Each child’s progress is compared to the expected levels of achievement as outlined in the Victorian Curriculum and Source of Life documents.
Typical assessment techniques include formative and summative assessments such as: observation, anecdotal records, rubrics, checklists, tests, reports, written work, group and individual presentations and conferences. Assessment of student’s progress, as well as evaluation of teacher and program effectiveness are considered essential components of the teaching and learning process.
Reporting on children’s progress include Parent/Teacher Learning Conversations in Terms 1 and 3, End of Semester Reports in Terms 2 and 4, and assessments based on National Benchmarks.
Our school curriculum celebrates diversity, caters for individual needs and encourages learning from each other.
